Mariama ® Maine Coons is a breeder of Registered and Certified Maine Coon kittens in Ontario, Canada with over 30 years of experience with purebred cats and dogs. We are triple registered in Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), The International Cat Association (TICA), and The Canadian Cat Association (CCA) (in good standing since 2006 ). We are also members of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) (in good standing since 1998 * Long Service Member). Maine Coon Cats are beautiful, loving and amazing creatures that are the ultimate companions! Scientific studies agree and support the belief that when a relationship forms between a human and animal, the bond can have a positive impact on the person's physiological, psychological, and social health. Our main goal and greatest reward is bringing joy, comfort, security, companionship, unconditional love, hope and improved quality of life to others through this very special, therapeutic breed of cat. We are a small, truly closed, private home breeder meaning our cats never come into contact with strange cats/people and we do not offer stud services to prevent the risk of contamination, thus protecting the health and well being of our cats. Our home is bright, sundrenched and spacious with nonporous floors. We also have an outdoor covered and screened in pergola enclosure that we share with our cats for their optimal health, and their emotional and psychogical well being. Here, along with us, they get to experience the warm sun on their face and the fresh air, thus absorbing plenty of vitamin D which is essential to their health. They also get to safely enjoy watching the wildlife all around - birds, squirrels, chipmunks, frogs, geese, ducks, insects and our family activities. Our maine coon kittens are home raised and well socialized with children and a dog. Our parent cats are Registered, HCM DNA Negative/Negative Combination Parentage Exclusively, PKD DNA Negative, SMA DNA Negative, FeLV Negative, FIV Negative, FIP free, ringworm and parasite free. Our current breeding stock is from Imported European (FIFe) Top Winning and Producing (Multiple - Best In Show, Grand International Champions, World Champions) Genetically Tested Bloodlines. Our kittens come with a written health warranty. We are located in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. We are a beautiful scenic drive, approximately 4 hours north of Toronto, ON. Maine Coon Cats are known as "The Gentle Giants of the Cat World!", "The Dogs in a Cat Suit!" As dedicated, long time Registered Maine Coon Cat breeders, we follow the breed standards set out by the major registering bodies in the cat fancy. Our emphasis is on producing cats of excellent type with feral look, silky non-matting coats, giant size and loving, super sweet temperaments. The Maine Coon's gentle, kind nature make them a wonderful breed for first time cat owners, those that cannot have a dog, families with children, the elderly, people with disabilities, those suffering from PTSD and for those that have had bad experiences with cats, which has made them afraid of cats in general. The Maine Coon breed produces fairly consistently with regards to structure, type and temperament (sweet temperament, high intelligence). This genetic predictability makes the Maine Coon an excellent choice for various types of families and makes them highly amenable to training (tricks, walking on a leash, responding to commands). A brisk combing once a week is all that is required to maintain their beautiful, semi-long silky coat. Their intelligence is incredible and they have been nick-named "The Cat For Dog Lovers" as it is not unusual for people to teach them to play fetch and to respond to commands such as sit or lay down. This rugged, hardy breed with silky weatherproof overcoat and slight insulating undercoat, paw and ear tufting, allows them to feel comfortable both indoors and outdoors (in all weather conditions) which is a real plus for those that want their cats to spend some time in outdoor enclosures and/or enjoy bringing them along for a walk on a harness year round ... truly a cat for all reasons and seasons!
